The game states that its story takes place over twelve days, with each 24-hours split into daytime and nighttime. Additionally, I have also covered inventory management, combat, the plague and the treatment of your wards. It is predominantly an immersive sim where you need to manage resources, the most important of these being time, the town's economy, health, exhaustion, hunger, and immunity. Pathologic 2 is a game about fighting a plague that is ravaging a small Russian steppe town in the 19th century. Obviously, if you're interested in discovering game mechanics by yourself, don't read this. I've done my best to avoid any form of plot spoiler, using only references to "late-game" or "mid-game". ![]() Having said that, I'm reading about a lot of new players getting stuck in no-win situations, and getting very frustrated as a result, so I made this guide summarising what I've learnt about the mechanics of this town, to help you survive and not waste precious time. One of the most compelling parts of the game (and all Ice Pick Lodge games) is the feeling of being dropped into a mysterious and hostile world, and slowly coming to understand how it all works. Having played through P1's Bachelor, I was already fairly knowledgeable about the town and how it worked, which gave me a huge advantage. I've just finished P2 on my first playthrough, with 25 deaths. ![]()
